OK, but is he an elite player? Is he a 1st round pick, a top 10 guy???

and if he is an OLB, why did VT have him at FS?

if he is such a liablity and VT is so great at developing players, why is an OLB playing FS?

nevermind the fact that they've only had 2 10-win seasons in a conference like the MAC...it's just not a good comparison

Better program as far as history goes: UT, hands down. I love the Hokies but give credit where it's due.

Recently in the past several seasons: VT

The two teams have hit a fork in the road in the last few seasons and are heading in opposite directions it seems.

To Biggin: The reason you hear us VT fans bragging over a win over one of the least exciting UT teams in seasons is because they are sort of rivals. They don't ever play each other but it is a good rivalry (should be one) nonetheless.

he's an NFL OLB, he's a college FS because as far as college kids go, he has adequate coverage skills...he played CB his freshman year, Rover (which is like a LB in other systems) in his 2nd year...then VT switched him to FS b/c the FS makes all the coverage calls in Foster's defense, and Chancellor had a very good knowledge of the defense and could get everyone in place

according to rivals, there are usually around 30 5 star kids and about 350 4 star kids...you don't think he was one of the top 350??

No. They're not in any way shape or form.

They should be. They should play.

Another reason is you constantly hear the "UT plays people. They come from the SEC and are superior."

Are you seriously this dense? I AM NOT COMPARING MAC TEAMS TO ACC TEAMS! Jesus christ. This is about dominating a conference but not being able to win any OOC games that matter.

VT has dominated their conference like CMU has done theirs. VT has never won a big game OOC, neither has CMU. Im not saying the MAC=ACC, I am saying its a simliar SITUATION. Ive laid it out four freaking times. I am not comparing Akron to Miami. I am saying that CMU has had tons of conference success, JUST LIKE VT, but has never won a big game that means anything towards the National Title scene.
VT has had their shots as well, losing to FSU in 00, but as a whole, VT, in the last 5-6 years, have dominated the ACC, like CMU has dominated the MAC.

Yes, I would say Chancellor is top 350 sure. But being top 350 does not make someone elite.

You can take pride in how well VT develops lower ranked talent, but has that translated into NC runs or undefeated seasons??
I would guarantee the VT staff would KILL to have the recruiting class UT had this year and last year.

Are you saying that the SEC is not superior to the ACC? UT does play a tougher conference schedule year in and year out, almost every year.

Re: Better Program: UT or VT?

you know what the difference is?

VT doesnt have a number lower than 3 in their row

    and:

UT is ahead of USC; does that mean UT has a better program than USC?? Same with Oklahoma, LSU, Auburn. Is UT or VT currently better program's than USC, Oklahoma, LSU, Alabama?

so those do little to help your argument, it only shows that VT is consistently the bridesmaid
